Return to Play

KITTERY YOUTH LACROSSE RETURN TO PLAY
General Hygiene and Distancing: Required face masks for staff, coaches, officials and designated adults serving as hygiene support for all practices, scrimmages, games and activities.
Athletes may wear a face mask during lacrosse activities. Face coverings should cover nose and mouth.

Return to Play: Competition will be internal unless the guidelines allow for county-wide play/games. Competition options will include a 4v4, 6v6 or 7v7 format to allow for fewer players. Practices allow for at least one coach and one recommended hygiene or safety coordinator.

Sessions will begin at 60 minutes in duration and following a transition period that can be evaluated every 2 weeks. Game play modifications for aspects of boys’ and girls’ games are recommended to minimize higher risk activities that limit extended closeness and contact between athletes.
Examples of game considerations where there is extended closeness and/or contact include the draw/face-off and any positioning that would allow bodies to make contact or be positioned within 6 feet of one another.

Kittery Youth Lacrosse is committed to the view that to play the game is great, to win the game is greater, and to love the game is the greatest. We are about promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, positive coaching and safety, and having fun, as well as advancing the sport of lacrosse.

We want each and every participant to feel like they have made a contribution to themselves, as well as, to their respective team both on and off the field.

Equipment   ·
Girl players will be required to have a stick, mouth guard, goggles, and cleats.    ·
Boy players will be required to have a stick, mouth guard, helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, jock and cleats.
Dick’s Sporting Goods and Play It Again Sports are two local options for lacrosse gear in our area.    ·
Goalie equipment is provided to each team for use during the season   Coaches and Volunteers Needed ·
Coaching & Board Member Volunteering-
This program needs to thrive on/live by the motto “many hands make light work”.  Kittery Youth Lacrosse is a non-profit organization that only survives through volunteers.  We are in definite need of coaching help in all of our programs as well as on our board.  Coaching experience and/or past experience playing lacrosse is not required to volunteer.
Registration $70 (includes practice shirt, insurance, and a jersey if new to Lacrosse)   ·
As we approach the upcoming season, we feel as though it is in the best interests of our town to approach the season by playing games within our own lacrosse community. ·
We would have short sided games such as 4v4 or 6v6, therefore there are less kids on the field and more opportunity to spread out. ·
If the situation changes and we feel that it is safe to play other towns, we will go ahead and schedule games. ·
All of the surrounding towns in our county are approaching the season the same way. ·
With all of this in mind we have tried to create a registration fee that is fair and cost-effective. It will help us cover the costs of the field maintenance, any additional team equipment and referee fees.  This year the Town of Kittery has graciously offered to cover our insurance for the players but next year we will be back to using US Lacrosse for our needs.

Breakdown of Teams   ·
Teams will be broken down by grades and gender… 3/4, 5/6, 7/8. The season will start April 11th or April 26th depending on town approval of field usage! …girls on Monday/Wednesday and boys on Tuesday/Thursday. FIELDS and times TBD

****NEW THIS YEAR**** ·         Clinics only will be offered for our younger kids who are in K/1/2.  This is a great year to develop new players and give them a chance to get out on the field and get the feel for a lacrosse stick and the game. Registration Price $40 and will include a Kittery Lacrosse shirt and lacrosse ball. Clinics will be held on Saturday mornings 5/8, 5/15, 5/22 and 6/5.
